I’m always trying to think beyond asian-inspired dishes when I use tofu. I love the idea of it in tacos!

  6. MM says:

I’m still not really down with tofu. (Maybe this would change my mind?) But I like your hurricane prep!

  7. I like tofu, but I’m not sure how I feel about it in a taco. It might be too much for me. I like the above comment about chickpeas though!

  16. Lyndsey says:

This looks amazing. We do like tofu and my daughter snacks on it when I pan fry it crispy. I will definitely try it like this! YUM!

  17. We’ve been putting everything in tacos *except* real meat these days! I can’t wait to try this variation! Thanks 🙂

  18. You never cease to amaze me how you can make tofu look like pure awesomeness! Even to the non believers!

  19. Oh my goodness this sounds amazing! I am off to get limes and tofu tomorrow!!

  20. My colleagues in the US generally associate tofu with health freak food that is bland and unpleasant. Only when they came to Asia that they changed their mind. I am a tofu lover and this tempts me… 🙂

  21. Kalyn says:

    Oh yes, they look delish!

  22. ~Bee says:

Tofu tacos… now that I’ve never tried! I am not the biggest fan of tofu though, so that could be why…

I welcomed in the hurricane drinking margaritas out of mason jars on a friend’s back porch and munching on homemade bread. It was pretty cool.

  23. Caronae says:

Ahh, that picture is so inappropriate right now — I am HANGRY for something tasty and savory at the moment. I have no avocados, no tacos, no tofu, and no cabbage though. And it’s one in the morning, so I really have no business eating a full on meal, but….I want to.

  24. gaga says:

I love tacos but never thought of making taco versions. It looks great, I’ll definitely have to try it.

  25. sophia says:

Honestly, Joanne, I don’t know how you do it. Go to medical school and run like mad and blog AND blog for Marcus. And after all that, you still have the energy to come up with some crazy fucking good like this.

Sorry I cursed, but seriously how the f892 do you do this? You are truly extraordinary.

And I still dream of being your roommate so i can suck some of your productivity. 😉

  26. U make the tofu look so gourmet and good that i need some rite away , and i just gorged on 2 rather large cookies!

  27. I was not an early bird either… and I have the grocery bills to prove it!

I’m glad you were well prepared with these delicious looking tacos!

  28. Sanjeeta kk says:

Its raining Quinoa recipes, Joanne…posted two quinoa recipes at my blog. And seems that I have got yet another treasured recipe to preserve. Lovely.

  30. Nicole says:

Yummy yummy yummy!!! This looks so super yummy – thinking – marinade for an hour or 2 – cook on grill on pizza pan (my new solution for stuff that can’t be grilled, but really should be able to be) and continue! Mmmmm! Can’t wait!

  31. Katie says:

Those huge slices of tofu look delicious, and it sounds like a great way to deal with Irene!
