Well, I promised you a celebratory cupcake.
So get some Eye of the Tiger blasting. Throw on something audaciously sparkly and sequined (think Forever 21). And give me some spirit fingers.
Because, hey Friday! We.Did.This.

Cold hummus might just be the quintessential party fare, but warm hummus?
Now that is the stuff that dinner-worthy dreams are made of.
**I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for ACH Food Companies Inc. I received a promotional item as a thank-you for participating.**
I know, there were best-laid plans to book it out of work at five so that you could rush home and shove your hands into some pizza dough, allowing it to rise for two hours and head into the oven almost exactly at the very second when your boyfriend/husband/significant other walked in the door and wouldn’t that just be so adorably Betty Draper of you? (at least in seasons 1 through 2…I make no promises about anything after that because we are so behind on life, at least as it pertains to Mad Men viewing).
But you know what they say about those and all of a sudden it’s 6:30, you’ve just walked in the door, and you’ve barely even begun to think about from whence this dough is going to arise, let alone what is going to go on it.
If you enjoy mixing your sweets with your savories, then this grilled cheese is definitely for you! Check out the recipe over at Marcus Samuelsson’s blog!
Also, one of my FAVORITE food bloggers (and real life friend) Shannon of Tri2Cook is hosting a virtual bake sale to help raise funds for the Pan Mass Challenge, which Shannon is participating in, in memory of a few wonderful people, with my dad being one of them. All of the money raised will go to the Pediatric Oncology efforts at the Dana Farber Cancer Institute. If you’re interested in bidding on some awesome baked goods (including my brown butter snickerdoodles!) then head on over and check it out!!
So, my brother is looking for an apartment.
I’m sure you’re all like, “oh that’s nice”.
And it is, really, until you’re hit by the magnitude of the fact that by “looking” I actually mean “looking to buy” and not “looking to rent”.
In Manhattan.
Oy.
Welcome to Eats Well With Others, where we take a vegetable-and-cupcake laden approach to life (always with a bit of laughter on the side)!
