On Wednesday, I was kidnapped.  Yes, it’s true.  Right in the middle of class, someone swooped in and transported me off to this alternate universe called “Fourier space”.

It was the land where everything I apparently did not learn in my college differential equations class went to die.

My tactics for getting my family to be healthier probably wouldn’t be approved by child protective services.

(It’s a good thing I’m the child and they’re the parents otherwise…we’d have some problems.)

Usually they involve me stampeding into the kitchen when I return home for a visit, throwing out everything that contains high fructose corn syrup (i.e. everything), screeching about type II diabetes for an hour, and then force-feeding vegetables and whole grains down everyone’s throat.  Sometimes, I even refuse to set foot in the car and insist that we all walk to the grocery store to buy ingredients for dinner.

Good times.

And no, I have no idea why they keep inviting me back either.

My public service announcement of the day is this: be careful who you give your Netflix password to.  Cause you might be a 25 year old male who might have given it to a 24 year old female approximately two years ago and she might be abusing her viewing privileges and watching marathons of Dawson’s Creek at all hours of the day and night.

Hypothetically.

I really wouldn’t know anyone like this.

But I can imagine such a situation.

In my everyday life my wildest dreams.

Nothing new on race day.

That’s what they tell you starting from day one of marathon training, when you’ve only barely just learned to lace up your sneakers and tie a double knot without using the bunny ears method (although some of us still haven’t achieved that last part.  No comment.)

And you repeat it to yourself before every long run, making sure you have the perfect flavor of powerade in your little water bottles and your favorite Gu gels safety pinned to your fuel belt.
