The truth about being a food blogger is that it’s not all gourmet dinners, edible glitter, and multi-colored paper straws.

Sometimes I’ve cooked or baked all.day. and there is still NOTHING to eat at dinnertime, either because everything was a total fail or because one cannot live on chocolate chip cookies alone. (I mean, we could, but we probably wouldn’t feel too great. )

On days like those, I reach for the takeout menus. And to be honest, though it feels like a good idea in the moment, I regret it almost.every.time – it’s greasy and heavy and never makes me feel like a million bucks the way a good healthy homemade meal does.

Like most people, I have resolved to “BE HEALTHIER” in the new year, and part of that means not ordering in Chinese food at least once a week just because I’m too tired or don’t feel like trekking it into the kitchen again.
