2. Please note that after these photos were taken, I stuffed my face so hard on all the Smorgasburg things (basically a big food market in Brooklyn) that being sucked in by this dress physically pained me.
3. It was worth every bite.
A popular Indian recipe made from whole black lentils simmered in a rich tomato sauce with spices and butter – dal makhani is one of the most delicious lentil dishes you will ever eat!
Some might tell you that the point of half marathon running is for exercise, fitness, health, this super awesome adrenaline rush that hits you after you finish the race and makes you feel like a very sore million bucks.
And yes, those are all well and good, and excellent reasons to run half marathons.
But what it’s really all about is spending 13.1 miles thinking about what you are going to eat when you are done.
And then eating it.
There is very little in life that is more satisfying.
Chocolate-covered strawberries are so last year now that this chocolate mousse-covered strawberry pie is in town!
Going to Coney Island brings out the competitive eater in me.
There’s just this hot dog eating contest juju in the air that makes you feel like, if given 10 minutes and the promise of a large monetary prize, you could eat anything and everything: the world is your oyster.
Then again, maybe that’s just your post half marathon hunger talking.
Rich chocolate cookies get stuffed with a fun filling of malted milk chocolate buttercream in these cookie sandwiches!
Because it’s Friday.
Because I used the.boy’s shampoo yesterday and smelled like Old Spice all day.
Because none of my coworkers took the time to smell me and inquire as to why I smelled like a middle school boys’ locker room.
Because now I’m wondering if maybe I always smell like a middle school boys’ locker room.
Because.
Get your taste buds pumping with these smoky and spicy black bean and kale enchiladas with ranchero sauce, topped with a spicy gooey cheese!
This is basically an encore.
Because whoever thought Cinco de Mayo only lasting one day (and being allowed to fall on a MONDAY no less) was a good idea was obviously the same person who thought that ice cream should have calories.
Wrong on so many levels.
1. Spring on Park Avenue. It’s basically the best.
2. Until of course it’s the worst and downpours for the better half of the weekend, causing all the bugs to crawl up from the ground, through your pipes, and you wake up at 6AM on Tuesday morning to a cockroach on your bathroom floor. Yes, I might have died a million deaths in that moment. He was large (upwards of 2 inches) and in charge, and was roaming around like he owned the place. Little does he know, an exterminator is on his way this AM to clear out the rest of his roach family. There is zero tolerance for arthropods in this apartment. ZERO.
