Blueberry pie that is literally bursting with fruity flavor and a buttery crumble topping.

Pie and ice cream go together like stretchy jeans and my thighs.

Especially after you see all of the totally necessary and mandatory taste testing I did to make certain that the two are a match made in heaven. Meant to be. Serendipitously joined at the hip.

They are. For the record.

Which I can say with absolute certainty after taking enough bites of pie alone, ice cream alone, and then the two together to make my conclusions statistically significant.

The things I do for you people…

Ice cream and a giveaway! Does life get any better?

I was recently given the opportunity to try out a variety of ice cream products/frozen treats.

See Exhibit A (below).

So the.boy and I set to eating. A lot. Of ice cream. And popsicles. And sometimes both in the same ten minute span. It was glorious.

Let’s discuss what we had, shall we?

My personal favorite were the Fruttare popsicles. I tried the coconut and milk flavor and they had me feel like I was on a tropical isle, with a cool drink in my hand and the sun beating down on me. So creamy delicious and refreshing. #Justcantgetenough.

The.Boy, in true peanut-butter-loving fashion, pretty much shoved his face into the Breyers Blasts Reese’s peanut butter ice cream and didn’t come up for air until the whole thing was gone. I managed somehow to get a spoonful in as he was doing so and instantly understood his obsession. Peanut butter ice cream with chunks of Reese’s. Not bad. Not bad at all.

And then both of us really adored the chocolate on chocolate action in the Klondike sandwiches. Because everyone knows that the only thing better than chocolate is double chocolate. Am I right or am I right?

Next, because we were trying to exert some kind of portion control, we tried the Magnum Ice Cream  Minis in the almond variety. They were pretty much the perfect after dinner treat to curb our sweet tooth without going overboard.

And finally, as kind of throwbacks to our childhood we had to indulge in the Good Humor strawberry shortcake pops and the Popsicle Cherry Orange Grape multi-pack. The former of which was always my ice cream truck treat of choice and the latter being what my mom used to always have on hand to satisfy our seemingly endless need for something sweet and icy in the middle of a long summer day.

Now that I’ve run you through the gamut of frozen treats that our out there, you’re probably wondering okay…but what’s in it for me. WELL. I have FREE coupons for each and every one of these products and one lucky winner will get them ALL. All you have to do to enter is leave a comment telling me which of these you would most like to get in your belly and why. DO IT.

Eggplant is roasted with aromatic Middle Eastern spices and then paired with a brightly flavored bulgur salad to make a complete and satisfying meal.

Yesterday…I totally skipped going to the gym to eat ice cream. (You’ll see why tomorrow.)

And frost a chocolate cake. Which would have been totally fine except that the kind of frosting I made was so slippery slidey that not only did it not want to stay on the cake, but it made the cake layers not want to stay on themselves.

It was a problem.

That I solved by eating more ice cream and a few fistfuls of marshmallow frosting and maybe I even scraped the little bits of chocolate cake that were still on the cake pans into my mouth. Maybe. The world will never know.

I received free samples of California Avocado mentioned in this post. By posting this recipe I am entering a recipe contest sponsored by California Avocado and am eligible to win prizes associated with the contest. I was not compensated for my time.

My name is Joanne and I am an avocadoholic.

That’s the only possible explanation for how I’ve managed to both swear off avocados and then dive right back into them, headfirst, within a span of nine days.

Cookie bars with a buttery shortbread crust and a gooey delicious peanut butter chocolate filling.

gooey chocolate peanut butter bars

*I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for ACH Food Companies Inc. I received a promotional item as a thank-you for participating.

Upon first glance at these gooey chocolate peanut butter bars, The.Boy turned to me, grimaced, and said, “But you’re going to make them look better, right?”

My own personal peanut gallery. How lucky.

And no sweetheart, that was not the plan thankyouverymuch.
