**I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for ACH Food Companies Inc. I received a promotional item as a thank-you for participating.**

I know, there were best-laid plans to book it out of work at five so that you could rush home and shove your hands into some pizza dough, allowing it to rise for two hours and head into the oven almost exactly at the very second when your boyfriend/husband/significant other walked in the door and wouldn’t that just be so adorably Betty Draper of you? (at least in seasons 1 through 2…I make no promises about anything after that because we are so behind on life, at least as it pertains to Mad Men viewing).

But you know what they say about those and all of a sudden it’s 6:30, you’ve just walked in the door, and you’ve barely even begun to think about from whence this dough is going to arise, let alone what is going to go on it.

As your heart starts to race and the hyperventilation that comes with “what’s for dinner” angst and agitation sets in, I implore you.

Breathe.

And let me ask you this. What if I told you I have a recipe that could get that pizza on your table in a half hour (or less), homemade dough and all?

Sounds crazy but with Fleischmann’s Pizza Crust yeast it is totally doable and totally delicious.

IMG_8047

Not only do doughs made with this yeast have NO RISE TIME, but it is specially formulated with dough relaxers so that you won’t have to spend twenty minutes rolling it to the size you want just to have it snap back into a tiny ball….it will {pretty miraculously} keep whatever shape you give it. No shrinkage here!

IMG_8079

So really, the most time consuming part of this whole pizza process is choosing the toppings. And even that doesn’t need to be a time-sucking ordeal. All you need to do is take whatever veggies you have in the fridge (I had a bell pepper and cherry tomatoes), toss them with olive oil, salt, and chipotle chili powder and throw them on top of your (firmly in place) dough, along with a layer of cheese. Throw it all in the oven for 15 minutes and bam. Dinner is done.

I accept thank yous in the form of hugs and leftovers. Just saying.

No-Rise Thick Crust Pizza Dough
Makes enough for 1 pizza, adapted from Fleischmann’s

Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 425.
  2. In the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the bread hook attachment, combine 2 cups flour, yeast, sugar and salt. Add in the water and olive oil and combine until well blended, scraping down the sides as necessary, about 1 minute. Add in enough flour so that the dough forms a ball and no longer sticks to the sides of the mixer after 30 seconds of mixing. Mix on medium-high speed for 4 minutes to knead.
  3. Pat the dough down with floured hands to fill a greased pan or baking sheet. Form a rim by pinching the sides of the dough.
  4. If your toppings are especially wet (like a sauce), pre-bake for 10 minutes. Then add your toppings and continue baking until cheese is bubbling and crust is brown. Otherwise, just add your toppings and bake until cheese is bubbling and crust is brown (that was 15 minutes for me).

  1. Fantastic! We looove homemade pizza and make it every couple weeks. I usually buy Whole Foods dough, but I love this idea of using the Fleischmann’s pizza crust yeast! Your amazing looking pizza is making me want to do homemade pizza night tonight….

  2. Um, is this even possible? I need to try that yeast!

  3. Corina says:

This looks so good. I would make pizza more often if it could be done this quickly.

  4. Yea, I totally don’t have time to watch dough rise… I tend to rely on Whole Food’s pizza dough but this sounds like a great option! Love the summery toppings!

  5. Gloria Baker says:

I love your pizza look delicious I will try the dough!
Always I make my own dough to pizza!

  6. No rise? Wow. I need to check this out.

  7. Johanna GGG says:

sounds like a lovely pizza topping – I tend to use a quick rise pizza dough recipe which is the only reason I make pizza so much – I don’t think I could organise myself to wait hours for dough to rise

  8. SallyBR says:

Well, I am VERY picky about my pizza dough, and use the same recipe every time.

I normally make the dough in the morning and stick it in the fridge the whole day, then let it warm as I heat the grill and make the toppings

However, per your post, I will keep an eye for the pizza crust yeast – you got me curious.

  9. I bought their pizza crust yeast once but I still let it rise for about 30 minutes because I was nervous not to haha. I’ll have to go ahead and use another package without rise time. Which is perfect because I’ve been meaning to make pizza too but never leave the lab/gym early enough to do so on weekdays!

  10. bellini says:

I like the idea of quick pizza dough!!The combination of peppers, tomatoes and cheese is pretty appealing to. Who says something with a face needs to be included to have something delicious.

  11. Now this is my kind of pizza! I simply love this recipe!!

  12. Jessie says:

Oh my gosh, this is so totally me! Yesterday my 1 hr meeting ended up being three hours, and the sous-vide dish I was planning to make was toast – except that Peter came to rescue and started it for me. Anything to help me with last minute dinners is a plus, and with grilled pizzas coming up on the menu more frequently, this pizza is perfect! Great recipe, as always, Joanne!

  13. sandra says:

Thank you (leftovers are on their way). If this yeast does what you say it does I’m sold. I’ve never had luck (talent) with pizza dough.

  14. Oh my word, that pile of cheese makes me happy.

Love this veggie-fied pizza! Looks amazing!

  15. Pam says:

That’s my kind of pizza. It looks fabulous.

  16. hugs! b/c there will be no leftovers!

  17. Yum! This looks like a great vegetarian pizza

  18. Ashley says:

More types of yeast to stock up on?! Oh no!! Haha! This looks awesome. I love all sorts of pizza toppings, but Dino likes to keep it simple. Just cheese or pepperoni. I’m all, “let’s throw tons of veggies on it!!!”… but if I’m the one cooking said pizza, he’ll just have to deal with it, right? 😉

  19. hhhhmmmmmm, Pizza. I miss pizza – this looks good!

  20. I’d seen the pizza dough yeast in the supermarket and wondered: how is it different from the regular yeast. Now I know!

  21. Awesome, I would never think pizza dough could be that quick and easy…what a time saver! The pizza sounds wonderful. Funny thing is I posted a pizza today also…great minds think alike huh? 🙂

  22. YUM. and i love anything that can come together that fast!

  23. Karen says:

Oh man, just look at that amazing PIZZA. I haven’t made any at home in so long! Clearly this must be rectified ASAP. 🙂

  26. Roasted cherry tomatoes are the bestttt. This pizza looks fabulous, Joanne!

  27. I’m super intrigued by the idea of the pizza yeast – no rising *and* it rolls out nicely? Almost sounds too good to be true 🙂 I definitely need to give this a go! Love your toppings and all that cheese, it’s been too long since pizza night at my house.

  28. Guru Uru says:

That is one fantastic yeast, wish it was available here!
This pizza looks too good to be true 😀

    Cheers
    CCU

  34. My kind of pizza! Love all that fresh veggies and spice. Looks delicious Joanne!

  35. OohLookBel says:

I have problems with dough shrinkage after kneading it, so this one would be ideal. Love the toppings, too. Very delicious.

  36. G’day! One word? YUM, TRUE!
is only brekkie but could now (based on your recipe and photos) go for a slice or two! 🙂
    Cheers! Joanne

  37. Hotly Spiced says:

You must work in your kitchen like Jamie Oliver – churning things out at a hurtling speed. How great to know you can make a fabulous-looking pizza in less than 30 minutes. I’m a Mad Men fan too although I do seem to be a couple of seasons behind. I think I’m going to hire the last two seasons and spend a weekend gorging on pizza while watching episode after episode xx

  38. No rise time?! That’s pretty awesome and worth a try. It’s not like super active yeast isn’t fast enough, but to really make a 30 minute meal out of homemade pizza dough is a treat.

  39. Wow, I totally need to get my hands on that yeast! What a great idea. Your pizza looks so delicious 🙂

  40. Honey says:

YUM! This is the THIRD cherry tomato recipe I’m seeing back to back… man, they really must be in season. This looks so good… never made pizza this way. 🙂

  41. Anonymous says:

the pizza looks great. But what exactly are “dough enhancers”? they sounds like a bunch of chemicals whose names I can’t pronounce and certainly don’t want to be ingesting. please tell me it isn’t so …..

    • Joanne says:

Hi Anonymous! I checked out the ingredient list and the only two ingredients that differ from regular yeast are ascorbic acid (vitamin C) and L-cysteine which is an amino acid that we normally have in all of the proteins in our body…both totally normal!

  42. That Girl says:

This sounds like my every evening, without the idealistic planning of perfect timing!

  43. I love pizza loaded with VEGGIES!! This is so mouthwatering!

  44. I need this yeast in my life as soon as possible! and this pizza – I love it so much!

  45. Oh wow! I’ve never heard of this yeast but will definitely see if I can find it here. 🙂 No shrinkage in the dough sounds fantastic. 🙂

  46. This sounds so good and it looks amazing too. Love the different tomatoes you’ve used.

  47. Mira says:

My impatience/lack of planning skills are definitely holding me back from making pizza dough, so it’s nice to see that there is a solution that won’t involve me needing to plan ahead…! This looks delicious 🙂

  48. grace says:

uh…i could totally take a dive into that pile of cheese. bravo!

  49. I love pizza with a little kick. Great idea with the chipotle powder!

  50. Colynn O says:

What a pretty pizza! I’m giving that yeast a try right away. I love making pizza dough. There’s just something so therapeutic about it. I also really need to start watching Mad Men. My boss says that he wants to have us watch it on break at work. Haha.

  51. Dining Alone says:

The few times I have worked with pizza dough I would get so angry it would not hold the shape. I have little patience, so this sounds perfect for me.

  52. tigerfish says:

I have been making quite a bit of pizza since spring. The only shortfall is I don’t make my own pizza dough. 🙁

  53. Reeni says:

I need to get my hands on some of that yeast! For the times when a pizza craving hits out of the blue – which is quite often. Love your toppings!

  54. Chaya Selig says:

That topping is calling my name.

  55. Nutmeg Nanny says:

Yum! This pizza is drool worthy for sure, I need to make this soon, my husband will love it!

  56. Chris says:

I gotta try that because our pizza dough always requires an hour or more rest time and I’m not always in the mood to fool with that!

  57. Phô mai que says:

I love your roasted pepper and tomato pizza. They look so yummy! I’ll try to make it for my family some time. Thanks for the recipe, Joanne!
