Happy new year! Only one week late, but once you have two kids that is basically on time.
2022 was a YEAR. We welcomed baby Nico into our lives and he continues to be a dream baby. Snuggly in all the best ways but also fiercely independent and headstrong about certain things (like, for instance, not crawling). He absolutely adores his big sister and lights up when she walks into the room or shows him even the tiniest bit of attention. He is also my partner in crime when it comes to spicy food love – this boy ADORES curries, chilli, basically anything with big flavor. Finally, someone in the house who understands me.
Remy, on the other hand, continues to eat a grand total of three things and rebuke any food with even the slightest hint of flavor as being “too spicy”. We are unsure where she gets this from, but we love her anyway. She started in a new, more academically challenging school this year and it has been so good for her. We have seen her love of math blossom and her vocabulary grow so much, and it has been so gratifying.
Not surprisingly with everything going on, the blog and recipe development has taken a bit of a back seat. Coupled with the fact that I have become increasingly particular about the recipes I do share with you, that has meant fewer (but higher caliber!) posts overall. I hope to get back into it and post with more regularity in 2023 as it is something I really love and am passionate about.
Despite all of this, this year was full of delicious food. The Top Ten Recipes of 2022 are filled with lots of great desserts, both complicated and more simple treats, and some of my favorite weeknight meals. Thank you for sticking with me during these constant seasons of change, and looking forward to more deliciousness in 2023!
