Who says all summer bbq dishes have to be unhealthy? Check out my post on Marcus Samuelsson’s blog for a delicious healthy pasta super salad!
Also. Two updates.
(1) I always said that if I didn’t do well on the boards I’d take it as a sign that I was meant to cook and not become a doctor. Well. Let’s just say that now I might have to become a doctor. Big smiley face.
(2) Grabbing drinks apparently just means lots and lots of sangria. Good thing I ate an entire batch of sweet potato fries before I left. There might be a second date, though I’m not sure how into it I am. And I’m usually the type of person who’s sure after one date. So we’ll see.
This looks delicious! I’m a huge fan of asparagus 🙂
CONGRATS on your awesome boards score!
And good luck if there’s a second date. 😉
Eeeeek! How does it feel to guest post on Marcus Samuelsson’s blog? Dream come true. Happy for you!!
So now you will be a doctor and a cook, why stick with one when you can do both:)
I am just curious, your date(s) must know about your blog and probably read it. Correct?
Congratulations Joanne!!!!As far as the date goes the lasting relationships start with being friends:D
Good for you Joanne!!!!!! Wow, that is fantastic you did well (as if we’d doubt it) on your boards score.
Love the foodie post and of course the Marcus Samuelsson blog post too…yea!
Way to show the boards who’s boss!
Congrats on your boards!!!! :))
Youpee! Congratulations on passing your boards!
Now I take it you haven’t told this boy about your blog, eh? 😉
Oh CONGRATULATIONS!!!! That is awesome and such a blessing! This dish looks wonderful. I am also a big fan of asparagus.
Love the greens in this salad! And congrats on your boards results. A little sangria never hurts afterwards 🙂
Congrats Girl!!
You are truly amazing. Congratulations on the boards – honestly, I think you must be brilliant! And the date sounds very intriguing. Can you share more?
BIG congrats girl 🙂 happy for you! you’re just meant to save lives and not feed people then 😛 altho im sure you’ll continue to feed ppl around u as you have been doing haha!
glad you’re giving that date another chance…hope this could lead to something good too!
Congratulations! I am so impressed that you can be preparing exams, studying and cooking all these awesome dishes and writing your posts! I’m always enjoying reading them and getting inspired by your cooking!
And after reading this one I can say that there will be a lot of chocolate cake salad eating around me! 😉
Congratulations!
The salad looks super delicious and healthy!
How fresh and green the salad look! So this is the secret behind the glow on your face always, Joanne 🙂
1) Congratulations on the whole doctor thing but I was selfishly hoping you would go into food. I mean you’ll still have time to write recipes in between doing rounds right?!
2) Hmm…very suspect. He didn’t spring for ANY food? I think we need more details.
Congratulations, Joanne. That is another huge hurdle successfully dealt with. Why am I not surprised :-). I hope you plan to celebrate this weekend. Your pasta looks wonderful. Have a great day. Blessings…Mary
Congrats and go be a great doctor – you can still be a cook in your spare time, but it’s probably hard to do it the other way around.
Congratulations on your boards!!! That’s awesome. You must feel so great right now.
Congrats on your board scores! And on your second date. When I was dating, I usually was good with identifying the “no way, evers” but one maybe just kept me coming back until I finally agreed to marry him. Not to put any pressure on you, or anything. 🙂
It’s so easy to make a summer salad healthy. Just leave out the mayo! Sounds like yesterday was a VERY successful day for you.
First of all the pasta looks heavenly!
I am so happy for you!!! Congrats on the success on the road to being a doctor!

There was never any doubt in my mind that you would ace the boards; congratulations!
OMG, a HUGE congrats to you on your boards!!! Sending you a huge hug, my friend!
That’s one super super salad and congrats on your boards!!! Terrific news. I was mean to my husband the first time he spoke to me so ya never know…
CONGRATS my dear! I Knew you could do it =D. Maybe one day you’ll find a way to combine both loves ;p.
Love the fresh looking salad with pasta goodness. The way you handle greens is always amazing!Love it! The picture is beautiful!
I’m so glad your boards were top notch!! Cooking and baking is a wonderful way to de-stress after a long day at work so you can enjoy both professions in your life! 🙂
Congratulatuions!!!! I knew you would do fine both on the boards and the date!
Une salade appétissante.
J’aime beaucoup.
See soon.
Congratulations on the boards! I just knew that you were going to do well on them! The date full of lots of sangria sounds like a great way to celebrate too. Now about this amazing looking salad…I am happy to add it to the list of salads that are rotating through my house these days. It looks absolutely fantastic!
Congrats Joanne, this look amazing, gloria
Congratulations! However I don’t see this letting you off the hook of cooking. The very best cooks in my family are: two urologists, an orthopod and an otorhinolaryngologist (whoa I spelled that correctly–if I’d gotten the “red line” I’d have changed it to ENT)!!
Best,
Bonnie
CONGRATS!!!! that is awesome news. and i like sangria 🙂 i think two dates is ok to figure it out… that was my general rule (unless it was obviously a no).
Congrats on the boards! That is amazing! Definitely decide after the second, hopefully a tapas or two?
Congratulations on your boards! I’m super happy for you. And this salad looks like heaven, so you might consider to remain cooking.

oh my gosh i haven’t had sangria in ages. i love that stuff. when it’s made well, it’s delish and not too alcholly (is that a word?)
Congrats on your exams 😀 and I feel like if you are not sure, you need to go again just to confirm 😉 cant hurt right?
SO super excited for you, Joanne!! And hugely proud. Well done, luv! 🙂
CONGRATULATIONS on board scores!!! 🙂 SO excited for you!!! 🙂
your two updates were amazing! GAHHHH YOU’RE GOING TO BE A DOCTOR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
and have a boyfriend!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! well if you want haha
Congrats!!! When is the party?? 😀
Congratulations!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Love sangria! A perfect summer drink! It can result in bad headaches if you drink too much. But why I am telling you? You’re THE Doctor!
Hee-Hee, what a great post! A BIG congrats on the soon-to-be Dr. – how fabulous – I hope you still find time to entertain and delight us with your recipes. Love this gorgeous green and white salad with its delicious inclusions – almond, cilantro, lemon & arugula… so wonderful!
The pasta looks healthy and delicious. Yippee about the boards – CONGRATULATIONS! I am glad the date wasn’t terrible… give him a second chance then make up your mind.
Looks delicious! I love greens but never think of mixin them with pasta!
Woo hoo! You go, girl! Congrats on passing your boards. That’s huge! I think you should celebrate — Mr. Sangria or no Mr. Sangria. You deserve to pop open a pricey bottle of bubbly. 😉
I hope you did a great big happy dance when you got your results! Yay!!!!!!!
Indeed- how much healthier can this get??? Congrats on your results!!!!
A lovely salad! So scrummy looking!
Congrats on your results!
Cheers,
Rosa
CONGRATS!!! And I can’t wait to hear about date #2. Let him know you like food…a lot. Drinks, too. But food, as well. 😉
Yippee! Hooray for you. (boy, that was close… My phone just auto corrected hooray to horny. Close call there.)
Congratulations Doc!
Congratulations! I know you’ll make an awesome doctor- you’re already an awesome cook!
Congrats on the boards!!! Also, I am (was) the self-proclaimed queen of online dating, having gone on basically 5 dates a week for about 6 months (boy are there a lot of losers and a-holes out there). And I have to tell you that usually one date is all it takes to form an opinion about a guy…BUT there were a couple lucky guys that I decided to give a chance to and felt otherwise later. But if you’re still unsure after 2 dates, then no sense wasting your or his time 🙂 Also, drinks are always a good idea for a first date if you’re not sure how u’ll feel, since it can last as little or as much time as you two want. Good luck!
CONGRATS for doing well on your boards….I knew you would 😉
Gotta dash to M’s blog – LOVE that you are over there with this pasta.xxoo
Congratulations! Joanne.
Who says you can’t be a doctor AND a cook? Just don’t cook the doctor. LOL
CONGRATULATIONS although it is the Culinary Institute’s loss.
I’m so glad I’m not single these days. I don’t see how you all put up with that foolishness.
great dish once u know how to cook there is no going back lol
Congrats! I knew you would do it! You have talents in so many areas. 😉
CONGRATS on the boards, girl!!!!!! I had no doubts, of course 🙂 You are AWESOME!!
