So, I hear that Thursday is the new Friday.

Partly because, TWO FRIDAYS every week. How awesome would that be.

(Extremely awesome.)

But also because that means there must be a pitcher of this sangria in my fridge with my name on it. And a sign that says “DO NOT TOUCH. Husband <– this means you”.

The thing that you guys should know about me is that I am a sangria junkie. If it is on a menu, I will order it. Usually in pitcher-sized quantities.

Not all sangria is created equal, however, and I have had it all. From the really good to the mediocre to the bad to the “I accidentally threw this entire pitcher across the room so I wouldn’t have to drink it. Oops.”.

This, of course, makes it all the more appalling that I haven’t just sucked it up and MADE SOME MYSELF already. I mean, if you want something done right…

Good news: this sangria is so right.

It’s right for summer. It’s right for slurping. It’s right for sipping.

It’s. Just. Right.

Made with a mix of my current favorite summer fruits, slightly sweet sparkling white wine, and a touch of peach schnapps it is also light, juicy, and super refreshing. To keep things interesting, I added in a few teaspoons of Nielsen-Massey’s Madagascar Bourbon Pure Vanilla Powder. WOW. Vanilla is definitely not just for baking anymore! Here, it serves to enhance the floral flavors of the fruits and it adds a subtle vanilla flavor that piques your tongue’s interest and keeps you going back for more. I will definitely be using it again and again in my cocktails…and my coffee…and my oatmeal…and everything.

Just everything.

  1. A beautiful drink – but an even better combo of ingredients! This sure would hit the spot tonight after work 🙂

  2. Joanne this is what we like to call “Thirsty Thursdays” which is our excuse of starting the weekend early. Even though I can’t partake in this for another 9 weeks you bet I’ll be making a pitcher of this and instead of a sign (bc my husband will definitely ignore it) I will bury it deep in the back of my fridge for my indulgence only

  3. Oh my goodness. I think my fridge needs like 5-ish ginormous pitchers of this sangria hanging out in it. I mean, weekend prep right?? Loveeeee all the peach + mango PLUS strawberry goodness!

  4. I love that you added vanilla to this. Those flavors together just shine! I’ll be over for a glass or two. 🙂

  5. I think Monday should be the new Friday 😉

They totally used some kind of bad hangover-inducing wine in their sangria and it was just no bueno. This beauty, however, I could drink it allll weekend long!
